Xian - 1er jour

Voici le début d'un arc de 3 épisodes narrant notre dernier périple dans la grande ville de l'ouest, Xi'an.

C'est ainsi que dans la soirée de ce jeudi 17 Mai de l'an de grâce 2012, nous sommes montés à 19h dans un train-couchette à destination du grand ouest. Première impression : c'est petit. Mais bon, on n’est pas là pour être ici, donc pour une nuit ça va le faire :). Et effectivement, on a plutôt bien dormi, nonobstant le fait que le train s'est réveillé à 6h...

Donc 15h plus tard (une de plus que prévu) nous sommes arrivés à destination, au pied des majestueuses murailles de la vieille ville. Là, un panneau "Percval" nous attendait, avec notre free pick-up qui nous a emmené à notre auberge à l'intérieur des remparts (comme c'était quand même 4€ la nuit, on pouvait se permettre d'avoir un chauffeur :p). Par contre pour l'installation, pas d'attribution précise, on a pu jouer aux lits musicaux dans le dortoir ^^.

Une fois la question réglée et l'équipe complétée de deux nouveaux membres fraîchement arrivés de l'aéroport, nous sommes partis en direction de la 8ème merveille du monde (source : Jacques Chirac), l'Armée Enterrée (Terracotta Warriors) du premier empereur Qin.

Pour cela, on a pris un bus direct qui nous a emmenés pour 7 kuais à l'entrée du site. Là, de nombreuses guides chinoises nous attendaient, plutôt jolies et bien habillées, même si avec des gants et des chemises elles ne devaient pas avoir froid sous 28° et en plein soleil…
Passé les premières émotions et s'étant délesté de 75kuais (tarif étudiant...), nous avons pu entrer dans le parc et voir les fameux guerriers (classés eux aussi au patrimoine mondial).

Comme d'habitude, les chinois ne font pas les choses à moitié, et ont construit un hangar de 210*62*15m3. Du coup, les 1000 guerriers de 1,80m ne remplissent qu'une petite partie de la fosse. Néanmoins, la conservation et la finition des statues sont tout simplement ahurissantes quand on sait qu'ils ont été modelés il y a plus de 2000 ans. Du coup certains parlent de la théorie du complot comme quoi Deng Xiaoping aurait fabriqué ces soldats en 1974 pour redynamiser la région. Personnellement je trouve ça un peu gros (mais comme on dit, plus c'est gros plus ça passe :p).

Côté histoire, Qin, roi du royaume du même nom, a été le premier à unifier la Chine (en seulement 10 ans !) et à créer le premier Empire du Milieu en 221 avant J.-C. Il en profita de fait pour unifier la monnaie, l’écriture, les poids et les mesures, la largeur des essieux des chars, etc. ce qui ne représente pas un mince exploit à l’époque quand on réfléchit au temps nécessaire pour traverser le pays ! Du coup pour que son tombeau soit à la mesure de sa grandeur, il a mobilisé près de 500k personnes pendant 36 ans ! (et créé ainsi une famine générale qui précipitera la fin de son empire peu de temps après sa mort).
On peut néanmoins noter à sa décharge que son armée de terre cuite avait pour but d’éviter d’enterrer vivante son armée et ses serviteurs avec lui à sa mort comme le voulait la coutume…

Le soir, on a mangé avec les locaux de l'étape (français et chinois) la spécialité locale (Yangrou Paomo), et ce dans un restaurant du quartier Hui (musulman) de la vieille ville. Le plat n'était pas fou (contrairement aux brochettes qui allaient avec), mais le quartier était super sympa !
Pour finir la journée, on a atterri dans un bar bien sympa qui se trouvait par hasard sous notre auberge, donc on n'a pas eu trop de mal pour rentrer ^^.
