Barrage des Trois-Gorges

Lundi 2 juillet.

Comme hier, réveil (enfin façon de parler...) à 4h30 et débarquement dans la ville de Yichang, ville portuaire située sur le Yangzi (Long Fleuve, anciennement appelé Yang Tsé Kiang) à 45km du Barrage des trois Gorges.
Pour la petite histoire, ce barrage terminé en 2009 (construit par Alstom) est le plus grand du monde, avec ses 2,3 kilomètres de long, 180 mètres de haut, et sa production électrique de 84 TW/an, soit l'équivalent de 18 centrales nucléaires ! Pour vous donner une idée, la surface d'eau retenue a la même étendue que la Suisse. Mais sa construction a été aussi une catastrophe humaine et écologique : 1,5 millions de personnes déplacées, nombreux sites archéologiques détruits, et de nombreuses espèces de poissons ont été condamnées faute de pouvoir traverser le monstre (à moins qu'ils ne parviennent à emprunter les écluses...).

Pour y aller, nous avons eu la chance de rencontrer une étudiante chinoise dans le train, qui après nous avoir invités chez elle pour le petit-déjeuner, nous a réservé une croisière organisée vers le barrage.
Ainsi, vers 8h30, nous avons embarqué avec notre groupe sur un joli bateau en direction de l'ouest. Nous avons passé les 3 heures suivantes au fil de l'eau à profiter du paysage magnifique et à alterner dedans/dehors car la température extérieure était difficilement supportable plus de 15 minutes :s.

Après une pause repas express (il était compris dans les 210 yuans de l'expédition), nous avons pris un car pour parcourir les derniers kilomètres et arriver devant la bête.
Il fait bien les dimensions données, les 5 écluses permettant de la franchir et l'ascenseur pour bateau sont impressionnant, mais le barrage n'était pas en train de lâcher de l'eau, la tour d'observation panoramique était en travaux, et on n'a pu ni monter dessus ni aller à son pied, donc on est resté un peu sur notre faim. Aux alentours du sommet, on en a même profité pour se faire arnaquer en repayant un minibus 20 yuan pour parcourir les 500 mètre séparant la plateforme d’observation du barrage -_-'.

On est rentré en bus (45 minutes, soit nettement plus rapide que le bateau), mais je dois avouer qu'encore une fois on s'est endormi avant le départ du bus ^^.
Au final expédition tout de même très sympathique, les paysages valaient le coup, et on a pu se la jouer vip en se faisant prendre en photo avec la quasi-totalité des 30 personnes de notre groupe (photos individuelles bien sur ^^), mais un peu cher tout de même pour ce à quoi on a accès.
Petite remarque rien à voir à propos des bébés qui ont une fente sur leur pantalon et se baladent les parties à l'air : il faut faire gaffe, ça peut attaquer n'importe quand ^^.

Pour la soirée, on s'est posé tranquillement dans un parc de Yichang (vu la chaleur et les deux nuits précédentes, on n'avait plus du tout d'énergie :p) avant de prendre tranquillement le bus n°1 vers la gare de l'est afin d'attraper notre train pour Chongqing, notre prochaine étape.

Pour la nuit, c'était grand luxe car cette fois nous avions des couchettes ! Et je peux vous dire qu'après un toilettage rapide dans les toilettes (on s'était pas lavé depuis 3 jours ^^), on s'est endormis comme des masses, et même si ça a été le dawa à partir de 6h, on ne s'est pas levé avant 9h30. Le paradis :).
